DIBS FAQ

MGYFA DIBS PROGRAM FOR THE 2024 SEASON

DIBS PROGRAM:

MGYFA is a 100% volunteer supported, non-profit organization that relies on our member families to carry out the various tasks and duties that are required to execute a successful season each year. To accomplish this, we ask that each family in our organization commits to a total of two volunteer hours, regardless of how many athletes are in the program.

DIBS Opportunities for the 2025 season will be available through December 1st, 2025.

2025 DIBS Requirements:

  • 2 DIBS hours per family.
  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
  • $100.00 buyout per player - if you choose this option, you will not be required to do DIBS hours.
  • A $100 Deposit Check will be collected for every player, regardless of if the family buys out of DIBS or not.  The check serves as both a DIBS deposit as well as a Helmet Deposit.
  • The Deposit checks will be destroyed upon completion of DIBS requirements.
  • If DIBS requirements are not fulfilled, checks will be cashed after December 1st, 2025.

DIBS Exemptions:

  • Head Coaches, Badged Assistant Coaches and a Team Manager are exempt from DIBS requirement. These need to be determined prior to the season starting. Even though they are coaching, they still need to write a Deposit Check.

DIBS Opportunities:

Most of the DIBS Volunteer Opportunities are during the preseason and postseason. There are very limited opportunities available during the season. We have always had more than enough opportunities for everyone to volunteer, so please plan accordingly.

Game Day Team Specific Volunteer roles such as Chain Gang and Game Video Recording ARE NOT eligible to satisfy your DIBS requirements.
